Passover

Passover Day two

1Peter 1:19

Rather, the payment that freed you was the precious blood of Christ, the lamb with no defects or imperfections.

Exodus 12:5
The lamb shall be without blemish, a male of one year; ye shall take it out from the sheep or from the goats;

It was a lamb without blemish. A blemished lamb, if it had the smallest speck of disease, the least wound, would not have been allowed for a Passover. The priest would not have suffered it to be slaughtered, nor would God have accepted the sacrifice at his hands. It must be a lamb without blemish. And was not Jesus Christ even such from his birth?

Unblemished, born of the pure virgin Mary, begotten of the Holy Spirit , without a taint of sin; his soul was pure, and spotless as the driven snow, white, clear, perfect; and his life was the same. In him was no sin.

He took our infirmities and bore our sorrows on the cross. He was in all points tempted as we are, but there was that sweet exception, “yet without sin.” A lamb without blemish. Ye who have known the Lord, who have tasted of his grace, who have held fellowship with him, doth not your heart acknowledge that he is a lamb without blemish?

Can ye find any fault with your Saviour? Have you aught to lay to his charge? Hath his truthfulness departed? Have his words been broken? Have his promises failed? Has he forgotten his engagements? And, in any respect, can you find in him any blemish? Ah, no! he is the unblemished lamb, the pure, the spotless, the immaculate, “the Lamb of God who taketh away the sin of the world;” and in him there is no sin.

Total Forgiveness

Joseph called the name of the firstbornManasseh: “For God has made me forget all my toil and all my father’s house.”

Second born; After forgiveness come fruitfulness
And the name of the second he called •Ephraim: “For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.” (Genesis 41:51, 52 NKJV)

Total Forgiveness
Manasseh had to be born first, Joseph said God has made me forget; Joseph was able to forgive because his focus was on God; God was in full control
Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. (Genesis 50:19, 20 NKJV)

This shows us God is able to redeem every setback and use it for his glory.
The Psalmist said ; The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand. I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread. (Psalms 37:23-25 NKJV).
